Saga online courses cover only the theory component requirements of provincial and, or territory Occupational Health and Safety agencies. Due to provincial and, or territory Occupational Health and Safety requirements, many of Saga’s online courses require a practical skills assessment component. During a practical skills assessment, a student demonstrates their ability to safely operate equipment in the manner it was intended to be used OR perform a technical, manual based skill such as performing CPR. For some Saga online courses, no provincial and, or territory Occupational Health and Safety practical skills requirement exists, however, due to industry based or employer based requirements, Saga strongly recommends a practical skills assessment for these courses. All Saga online theory courses have a multiple choice exam. To receive a theory training certificate for a Saga online theory course, a student must achieve a grade of at least 80%. If a Saga online course has a requirement for a practical skills assessment, the student must show their theory training certificate to the training provider they schedule their skills assessment with.

Notes:

1. Saga theory training certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of the course’ completion.

2. It is recommended that an operator evaluation occur within 18 months from the date of the theory training component  to further ensure the operator’s competency.

3. It is a Saga requirement that the student enrolled in; interacting with the online course materials and taking the related course quiz must be the same individual.
